The route sheet

Working Daniel Island

The route is simple: Virginia Ave to I-526, over the Don Holt Bridge with the Cooper River under the van, and off at Clements Ferry Rd or the Daniel Island exit. Twelve minutes on a normal morning. The island is laid out for driving, so Seven Farms Dr, Island Park Dr, Daniel Island Dr and River Landing Dr get the van to any address quickly, and the HOA gate codes and parking rules for the condo buildings are kept on the ticket so the technician is not calling from the curb. Clements Ferry Rd north of the island, with its newer subdivisions, is on the same sheet and the same drive time.

Daniel Island was built almost entirely after 1997, so there is no old wiring or crawlspace vent to blame. What fails is electronics and the upper end of the appliance market. The bigger houses were fitted with Sub-Zero, Wolf, Thermador, Viking, Miele and JennAir, and those machines are now old enough for inverter compressors, touch controls and gas valve assemblies to give out. The townhomes and condos run Whirlpool, KitchenAid, Bosch and Samsung packages with stacked laundry in a closet and a dryer vent that runs a long way to the roof. Salt air off the Wando and the Cooper reaches condenser coils and connector pins, and every hurricane-season outage brings a round of dead control boards.

What Daniel Island calls about

ApplianceWhat we see most here
RefrigeratorsSub-Zero and Thermador built-ins with failed condenser fans and dirty coils behind the panel; inverter compressor boards after a surge; ice on the back wall of a KitchenAid French-door.
DryersLong roof vents from second-floor townhome closets choking airflow; moisture sensors coated with softener film; heating elements in stacked LG and Whirlpool units.
WashersFront-loaders on Seven Farms Dr with worn spider arms and bearings; door lock assemblies; drain pumps clogged with sand from beach towels and dog blankets.
DishwashersBosch and Miele units showing water in the base pan; circulation pumps on KitchenAid built-ins; panel-front doors whose latch was never adjusted for the cabinet weight.
Ranges & ovensWolf and Viking igniters and spark modules clicking without flame; Thermador wall-oven relay boards; glass-top elements in Clements Ferry kitchens.
Ice makersSub-Zero drawer and door ice makers with failed water valves or stuck ejectors; hollow cubes from a slow fill; slow leaks into the bin from a cracked mold heater.
Fridge · Seven Farms Dr

A built-in 42-inch side-by-side, fresh-food side climbing to 48 degrees while the freezer holds. We pull the top grille and find the condenser packed with dog hair and the fan motor dragging on a dry bearing. Coil cleaned, fan motor metered and replaced, temperatures logged before we pack up.

Range · Island Park Dr

Six-burner Wolf range, two burners sparking nonstop even with the knobs off. The spark module is grounding through a damp igniter lead. We isolate the fault with the meter, replace the lead and igniter, and confirm every burner lights clean and shuts off silent.

Washer · Daniel Island Dr

Townhome closet, stacked front-loader thumping in spin loud enough to hear downstairs. Bearings and spider arm gone. We give the owner one written number at the door, order the assembly, and return with no second trip fee to rebuild it and run a full spin.

Dishwasher · Clements Ferry Rd

Bosch dishwasher in a new-build kitchen, stopping after two minutes with water in the pan. The float sensor is reading a real leak: a hairline crack in the sump seal. We replace the seal, dry the pan, run a complete cycle and check the floor with a light.

Daniel Island questions

Is there an extra charge for coming to Daniel Island?

No. Daniel Island is twelve minutes from the shop over the Don Holt Bridge, and we do not add a bridge, island or gate fee. You pay the $99 diagnostic, and if you approve the repair that $99 is already inside the written price. Book online and up to $20 comes off the repair.

Do you service Sub-Zero, Wolf and Thermador on Daniel Island?

Yes. The built-in lines are a regular part of the island route, along with Viking, Miele and JennAir. The technician carries the panel tools and the specific test procedures those brands need, and the common failure parts for them ride on the van. A part that has to be ordered comes back with no second trip fee.

Can you work in a Daniel Island condo building with a gate and elevator?

We do it weekly. Give us the gate code, the loading entrance and any elevator reservation rule when you book, and we note it on the ticket. The technician brings floor protection and leaves the laundry closet or kitchen tidy. Written invoices and warranties can go to you or to your property manager.

Do you help with Daniel Island rental turnovers?

Yes. Property managers on the island send us the address and the symptom, the tenant or the cleaner lets the technician in, and the manager approves the written number by text. Everything gets a full test cycle before the next lease starts, and the written warranty is in the owner's name.
